Dana: Amy, what's your last name?

Amy: Krell Krell k-r-e-l-l

Dana: Okay

Amy: yeah

Dana: I was like I all I know is your name is Amy I didn't know it anywhere else

Amy: Amy from Ellipsis.

Dana: yeah exactly. (Amy: yeah) Do we look okay? No for real like... [Laughter] You've already pushed record haven't you? (Amy: Yes, yes)

Dana: What's up Buda? I am here with my friend, Amy, from Ellipsis Boutique and we're just gonna chat a little bit about this amazing little store. Tell me um let's start with a name -- why... what inspired the name Ellipsis?

Amy: Well Ellipsis (which not every everybody knows; which took me a while to learn) - but it's the three dots. (...) So just to me kind of meant more like there's more to the story. So you just, you know you kind of joke around and say, "dot dot dot" you know? For any different reasons but it really kind of came about with some friends back in our/my hometown or which my home state, Montana, (Dana: okay) is where we're originally from. But some good friends there we kind of always had this this joking little banter between each other and it was dot dot dot. So ,when I first thought of opening the store, I honestly was like should I name it Dot Dot Dot spelled out? But I'm like, "no" and Ellipsis came out from that.

Dana: That's perfect. I love it. (Amy: yeah) Awesome. Okay, so let's talk about the Ellipsis like Vibe. When you come in here, like what is somebody gonna find?

Amy: You know, I I'm really excited about the vibe in here because it's really relaxed. It's a little bit of boho casual. just a fun vibe I think, personally. But it's just... we just we're like boho, relaxed, casual. I do have quite a wide range of shoppers-like I've got between like high school girls on up. I have some ladies in their like 70s. They'll come in. My mom loves the store and she's in her 70s, so there's quite a wide range of shoppers that come in too. So that's great!

Dana: Well that kind of answered my next question about... maybe who is she? like the Ellipsis shopper like what's her story? What's she like?

Amy: You know, it's funny you ask that because I've been thinking of that lately. (Dana: Okay, awesome.) so that should be in a boutique owner's like mantra that should be big part of it and I've never really stopped and thought about who my girl is, but all in all my girl is me. I just I want to be comfortable. I want to feel good. I want to look good but I'm all about casual and just an easy going vibe. (Dana: yeah) Like I'm not going to you know bring in stuff that is too dressy. We're in a casual area all in all but so I have I have people coming looking in for formals and stuff. I'm like, "no I don't carry the formals." I mean, it's because it's not me. You know what I mean?

Dana: Okay so let's talk about this fall. I mean, let's talk fashion! What can we expect? What trends should we be looking for? Like what's gonna make us look good?

Amy: Seriously, uh honestly I'm seeing a lot of corduroy (Dana: okay) which we're all kind of like eeee but

Dana: Yeah, especially when it's 100 degrees!

Amy: Oh I know I know totally. It's really the baby soft corduroy , which means all in all it means it's really lightweight

Dana: Okay, so like the tiny corduroy?

Amy: Yeah just like a really soft pin pin corduroy not the thicker wide stuff um but anyway it's just it's so it's really lightweight stuff which I'm excited about

Dana: Yeah that's good for Texas

Amy: ....for Texas, absolutely! and then of course just a lot of your I mean I'm seeing a lot of the... of course the Army greens, red is going to be pretty big; kind of more like your cherry red. I'm not sure.... not your your deep reds it's more of a cherry red vibe coming in. Definitely a lot of browns and blacks and I love all those!

Dana: Some new colors that haven't had a moment for a minute.

Amy: Yeah, yeah just totally like kind of back "back" although they are trying to bring back um low-rise jeans and I just refuse to bring them. So you won't see those at Ellipsis.

Dana: Not here. (laughter) Tell me about your people.

Amy: My people... my husband and I've been married we were high school sweethearts (Dana: that's so cute) We've been married for thirty-... oh my gosh 33 years?

Dana: That's awesome. Congratulations!

Amy: So a long time! (Dana: yeah) and then we have two kids and they're grown and doing their thing, Christina's the oldest and she's in Austin working for a jewelry company that we carry actually! Tula Blue. And then our son is in Portland Oregon doing his thing. He's working at Trader Joe's and loves it. He's our Northern kid (Dana: yeah he's got better weather!) He's never gonna move South but so and then we have our fur babies, of course: our kitty cat and our Juno Bug at home. and then my daughter has a pup, too. So

Dana: Yeah so you have a granddog.

Amy: We're grand... grand ...

Dana:I don't know what we call ourselves. I have one, too.

Amy: Well I'm... my husband is PopPop and I'm GamGam.

Dana (to cameraman): So, we're not weird!

Amy: No

Off camera male voice: Y'all are definitely weird.

Amy: yeah yeah yeah (Dana: yeah) Seeee?

Dana: So there's your introduction to Ellipsis! Make sure you stop in check out the relaxed and cool vibe here. And say hi to Amy for me.

Amy: Thanks everyone!
